In June 2017, Resurge Director Albert Paintsil led a surgical mission from Ghana to the Holy Spirit Hospital in Makeni, Sierra Leone. During this mission, the group carried out a life altering surgery on a 16 year old boy with a history of congenital abnormalities. A Bilateral gynaecomastia means that this boy can go on to lead a better life, free from the stigma that this condition carried with it. The patient is doing well, has been discharged and will attend follow up appointments in the outpatients clinic.
